ROP awareness at NMC

#ROPAwareness: Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) is one of the leading causes of preventable blindness if detected early, occurring in premature babies who are very tiny (less than 34 weeks of pregnancy) and less than 2000 gm with prolonged NICU stays. There was a sensitizing program of ROP awareness by Nepal Medical College with combined efforts from Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology and speakers from both institutes. Dr Rojeeta Parajuli and Dr Eli Pradhan were invited speakers from TIO and participated by consultants, ophthalmology and paediatric residents from both institutions, as well as Retina and paediatric ophthalmology fellows from TIO, NICU staff, and related medical and paramedical staff.
