NEP TIO, and KAHS entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
On 25th August, the Nepal Eye Programme, Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology (NEP TIO), and Karnali Academy of Health Science (KAHS) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with an objective to strengthen the department of ophthalmology at Karnali Institute of Health and Science and consequently expand the eye health services in the Karnali Province. Both Institutions have agreed to collaborate with academic and research programmes.
The MoU has common goals of promotion, prevention and treatment of vision impairment and blindness and develop comprehensive eye care services to reach the community level in Karnali Province, strengthening capacity of department of ophthalmology at KAHS, develop training programs for different levels of eye health cadres of KAHS and other throughout Karnali province, innovate new technology and conduct research on eye health and execute sustainable eye health program.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Sanduk Ruit, executive director of NEP TIO, and Dr. Mangal Rawal, Vice Chancellor of KAHS in the presence of Honorable Health Minister Mohan Bahadur Basnet at the Ministry of Health and Population.
