MoU signed with Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply

Government of Nepal, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supply and Nepal Eye Program, Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology have signed a Memorandum of Understanding today for the relocation of the Nepal Eye Program’s Intraocular Lens Production Department (The Fred Hollow's Intraocular Lens Lab) to Hetauda.

During a programme organized today at the ministry, Joint Secretary Mr. Baburam Gautam on behalf of the Ministry, and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Reeta Gurung on behalf of the NEP/TIO signed the MoU in the gracious presence of Mr. Damodar Bhandari, Hon'ble Minister of Industry, Commerce, and Supply of the Government of Nepal.

As per the MoU, the Ministry will provide a grant of Rs. 2 crores for the infrastructure development of the intraocular lens production department(The Fred Hollow's Intraocular Lens Lab) in order to relocate it to Hetauda. Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology will utilize the fund for the construction of the production building at Hetauda.
