From TIO’s inception, interventions and modalities such as modern cataract, corneal transplant, glaucoma, vitreoretinal, orbital, strabismus, and refractive surgeries have been offered.
24 HOUR EMERGENCY SERVICES
A 24-hour emergency service department ensures those suffering from an eye injury or infection can receive treatment at any hour of the day or night.

The Tilganga Eye Hospital generates 100% of its running costs through patient fees. A cost recovery scheme utilizes tier pricing and cross-subsidy where poorer patients receive indirect assistance from those who can afford to pay for treatment. TIO believes that all patients should receive the same high-quality care regardless of their means and background.
TIO’s Out-Patient Department (OPD) is where modern ophthalmic care is given to the general public. The Hospital manages on average about 900 patients each day.
