MD Residency Program in Ophthalmology at TIO

The MD Residency Program in Ophthalmology is one of the main academic programs of the Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology (TIO) in affiliation with the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS). It was started in 2004. Currently, a total of 22 residents are undertaking this program. A total of 9 Residents are enrolled this academic year including one from Maldives and one from Myanmar.
The objective of this 3-years program is to produce comprehensive and community-oriented ophthalmologists with the ability to exercise sound clinical judgment in dealing with ophthalmic medical, surgical and optical problems. A total of 41 (17 male & 24 female) doctors have completed MD Ophthalmology course from Tilganga.
During the course residents are posted to different eye hospitals which are running the MD programs affiliated to NAMS.
